What drew me to SOM to begin with was its ease of use on Linux.

Hoping the 2.0 will become Linux compatible... hate to have to start searching for another.

        Hello,

I'm a Pro user. Now I need to use Linux Mint in my company, but, SOM works on Linux?

SOM is written with Java, and Java is OS independant. So, have plans to support SOM with Linux?

        Thank you!

Screencast-O-Matic works fine on Ubuntu Linux. Much like Steven Francisco, I use S-O-M because it is multiplatform and just works.

I'm evaluating SOM and I like it but on my Ubuntu I get only black backgrounds. Any idea?

Some Options are missing on Linux, like "Show Advanced" und the "Change Recorder Settings"-Button. But work well on Kubuntu 12.04 64bit for me.

WOW! SOM is fabulous! I just tried it out for the first time on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS using Sun's Java 7. Worked out of the box, audio video and all! Didn't have to mess with pulseaudio or nothing! Talk about WOW!

I do have a question though... will it work with the open source java that Ubuntu is supporting? I don't use it (yet) but I'd like to know if it also works with SOM.

being able to do Pro screencasting on my server would be very useful!!

I'm a PRO user too, and I work on Linux! I'd like to have local SOM installer on my O.S.!

I also have this question. SOM is the best screen recording software I have seen on the Linux platform yet. I would gladly pay for pro account on Linux.

The Windows installer is great, but I'm primarily on Linux - the primary reason I use SOM is because it's fully functional on Linux. I'm a Pro user and would love to have a local install - so I can SOM while disconnected.
